1995 marked the 50th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. By order of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Zlatoust craftsmen were tasked with making four swords of victory “Memory and Gratitude”
Each sword was intended for one of the countries of the anti-Hitler coalition: Russia, USA, England, France
Russian President Boris Yeltsin presents the sword of “Remembrance and Gratitude” to French President Francois Mitterrand
Now these swords are stored in 4 countries of the world:
England – Imperial War Museum London
USA – Library of Congress
France – Louvre
Russia – Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War
