Exactly 40 years ago, in 1980, on the Soyuz-T-2 spacecraft piloted by cosmonauts Malyshev and Aksenov, the Zlatoust engraving (panel) ascended into space. This is one of the greatest achievements of the masters. Like today the panel is covered with nickel and gold.
Yuri Gagarin is the first person to travel to outer space. It happened on April 12, 1961.
Coincidentally, just a few days ago, on July 20, 2020, our friends from the UAE launched their own HOPE satellite. The United Arab Emirates became the first Arab state to send a space probe to Mars. It should travel 500 million kilometers and reach the Red Planet in February 2021, when the 50th anniversary of the formation of the UAE will be celebrated.
The UAE has joined the growing list of countries that have sent spaceships to Mars and we congratulate them on that!
