To decorate the gilded details, the technique of the Zlatoust metal engraving was used. The technique includes brush drawing followed by etching of the pattern, cutting with a metal cutter and a needle on varnish and gilding. In combination with nickel plating, volume and midtones are created.
The knife hilt is made of blue resin. Having passed the processes of cutting, grinding and polishing, we see a unique pattern of the hilt. This material is interesting both for its beauty, and also for practicality. The resin does not absorb moisture, which will save the knife for many years.
There is a golden falcon – the emblem of the UAE – on the blade and scabbard. The emblem of the United Arab Emirates is a yellow falcon — a symbol of autocracy in the country, most of which is occupied by the desert. The plumage symbolizes the seven emirates — seven feathers.
