To create the box, the craftsmen used the semi-precious stone malachite. Today it is mined in Africa, and then delivered to Russia for the manufacture of decorative items. Until that time, malachite was mined in the Urals, not far from Zlatoust. Our craftsmen have been processing malachite for over a hundred years. The surface of the box, as well as the legs are made of metal. Pillows have a complex shape. This was made possible thanks to the manual cutting of metal. The master manually cuts out all the curls, after which the details are polished. In addition to cutting, the master engraver applies a relief pattern to the metal surface. The work is painstaking and delicate, since the details of the pattern are small in size; they have to work with a microscope. Further, all the metal elements of the box are covered with nickel and gold. The final stage is stone inlay. The lid is decorated with stones of different shapes and sizes. The box conveys the beauty and richness of the nature of Russia, described in the fairy tales of Pavel Petrovich Bazhov.
The box is placed in a gift wooden box.
