The base is carved from jasper stone. The surface of the stone is polished to a shine. This is a rather long and laborious process. Jasper has a beneficial effect on the body, gives strength and self-confidence, helps to make decisions and is able to neutralize the harmful effects of electrical radiation. A metal base of the fitting is installed on the stone. Like the stamp fitting itself, it is decorated with patterns using the technique of the Zlatouts metal engraving. Nickel plating, gilding and stone inlays emphasize the beauty of the design and details.
For the second century in a row, the Zlatoust metal engraving is an original and rare kind of Russian craft. It was born at the beginning of the 19th century as a way of decorating author’s edged weapons made at the Armory founded by decree of Emperor Alexander I.
