In close combat, warriors used a small and light dagger as a secondary weapon, in addition to the main one, a large and heavy two-handed weapons. For some peoples of the Caucasus, a dagger is an accessory of a national costume. Many rich people in the Caucasus could afford to wear two daggers on their belts (right and left) to demonstrate their wealth, and changing their places upon their wish.

Description

In Russia in the XVIII-XIX centuries, daggers were used by various Cossack units. There were no firmly established samples of Russian military daggers, they repeated the traditional forms, but differed in finish patterns.

Zlatoust masters make daggers of the Caucasian type, decorated with gold, silver or cupronickel. Each dagger is a vivid example of handmade and inspired collective creativity. Weapon makers, artists and engravers of the company worthily keep and develop the Zlatoust traditions of metal decoration.
