In the XVII century, the cane began to be perceived as an element of the suit speaking of the social status of its owner. In addition, the cane had another important function for that time – a melee weapon. Combat modifications of canes (heavy short “batons”, hollow sheath canes with stilettos inside) and even standard canes from solid wood in the hands of a master turned into a formidable weapon.
The author’s cane is a subject of weapons art of the Zlatoust masters. The cane tip is made of metal; large perunite of saturated emerald color is encrusted in the center, surrounded by a bunch of green alpanites. The stick of the cane is also the hilt of a stilettot made of damask steel ZDI-1016. The stiletto is hidden inside the cane, its blade does not have final sharpening and strong fastening in the hilt, therefore this cane is a souvenir weapon. The shaft (trunk) and the tip of the cane are made of ebony precious wood decorated with ornaments and garnets.
Such a collection cane is a tribute to traditions and an extraordinary gift for a respected person.
